Cable TV for Kufstein

Construction of a community antenna system around the Kufstein Fortress to enable reception of ARD, ZDF, and Bavarian Television.

1987

Start of the cable TV network as an alternative to rooftop antennas and overhead lines. The expansion begins in Kufstein-Zell and gradually extends to Ebbs-Eichelwang over the years.

Introduction of KufInfo, a local teletext service providing regional news.

1996-2000

Production of a weekly 12-minute television program in cooperation with Lokalfernsehen Rosenheim.

1998
Internet via Cable-TV

KufNet introduces internet via cable TV – a true revolution compared to slow dial-up connections.

Introduction of KufNet WLAN hotspots – wireless surfing becomes possible in Kufstein for the first time, starting with the fortress as the central transmission point.

Installation of WLAN hotspots at Kufstein Fortress.
2008
Landline Telephony

KufNet expands its services to include landline telephony, offering affordable rates and local phone numbers.

Telephone showroom located in the atrium of the Stadtwerke building.
2010
Digital Television

Launch of digital television with over 200 channels.

Peter Berger and Armin Eder at the introduction of HD television.
2012

Introduction of an organized channel list and expansion of the TV headend station for improved picture quality.

2016-2019

KufNet expands into the municipalities of Langkampfen, Ebbs, Kössen, Thiersee, Landl, Jochberg, Schwoich, Söll, and Kirchbichl.

2019

KufNet connects the municipalities of Planning Association 28 (Ebbs, Erl, Niederndorf, Niederndorferberg, Rettenschöss, Walchsee, Kössen, Schwendt) to the network.

Planning Association 28 is connected to the KufNet network.
2023

Fiber optic technology reaches Bad Häring.
